Been thinking about joining some friends and going up to San Francisco for the trans pride march on friday.
Unfortunately the demigirl flag I ordered and planned on wearing like a cape hasn't arrived yet!

>>1208387Well apparently I dodged a bullet cause police started raiding the march after someone tried running over people marching in the parade. But they started arresting marchers for 'vandalism'
No.1208391
This is one report on it from the local news
Here's a (potentially less biased) perspective:
"Around 7:40 p.m., as marchers approached the end of Market Street, police cars were waiting and officers ran through the crowd to arrest several protestors. Eyewitnesses say that police cited vandalism as the reason for the arrests.
Throughout the parade, a group of marchers with masks covering their faces and keffiyehs on their heads had spray painted statues and shot paint guns at security cameras along the route.
One marcher, Emilio, said that roughly 25 to 30 police cars were waiting as the procession neared its end. The police appeared to have several specific targets in mind.
'All of a sudden, they sprinted through the crowd after that one person,' he said. The initial arrested protester was described by several as wearing a keffiyeh and being 'completely peaceful.' Eyewitnesses report that at least four people were arrested in total.
One man was pinned to the ground for the arrest; another protester was dragged along the ground towards the cop car. After the initial arrests, one protester jumped on top of a police car in an attempt to stop them from leaving. They were pinned to the ground by multiple officers, while other officers waved batons at protestors and warned them that the street was now closed.
As police exited the crowd, they shoved the remaining protestors aside. One officer, once he reached the edge of the crowd, turned to spit on the ground.
Another protester reportedly approached the police after the arrest. 'Why on this day of all days?' she asked the officer. 'This is why we’re here. Trans people getting abused by the police."

alas, my favorite month of the year is unfortunately about to come to an end, and i'm so bummed T_T but the joy of sharing the love and celebration with the queer community always brings me joy!
and one thing I did not expect is to make new discoveries within myself, but alas here we are!
While i'm not completely married to it yet, just cause there is a lot of stuff to figure out/sort, i think i discovered that i am in fact on the Ace Spectrum! it took fuckin forever cause i do indeed draw/look at porn, and am part of a sex dungeon, but upon a great amount of reflection, it makes a lot of sense for me.
we'll see if it sticks, and maybe i'll back away from it upon even further review, but for now, i'm gonna try to rep Ace, particularly Cupiosexual (cause i still want the sexy times stuff)
I don't know where your journey has taken you, but thank you so much for being here and sharing it with me <3
and remember as we go into July, we are shifting from Pride to Wrath! so brandish your flavor rainbow weapon of choice, and make it everyones problem!!!
>>1208390>>1208384>>1208391good god! i'm glad you are okay, but that's just horrendous :(
and it's precisely this sort of thing why pride exists, and while sobering, it's a reminder why we do what we do
i hope everyone is okay, and extra love to you, and everyone that was effected in that

>>1208429The thing that so pisses me off about the incident is that this was in
San Francisco of all places! Like, you have cops marching in the pride parade waving rainbow flags in what is one of the queerest cities in America and arresting and beating up trans people a couple days before, seemingly indiscriminately. It feels really two faced.
Fortunately none of my friends who marched in the parade were part of that. But it's been a big topic on our discord server over the weekend, which is where I'm getting most of my news about it.

>>1208452>one is a means of self defense >another is a self defeating display of destructive behavior Nta, but I think you missed the point. If you have to announce, I am (x). Then it creates a tribe. It divides rather than unites. I seen a few of those parades before and the trash, graffiti, and overall behavior of the people who attend isn't acceptable of anyone, regardless of who you want to hump for the night. I have a problem with the parades themselves and the people who attend. Not the sexual orientation of the people who go. Same with most other protests or forms of "expression". It isn't actually expression. Its a chance to get fucked up and act weird and pervy with people. Acceptance doesn't mean I have to be exposed things like self entitled destruction, sexualized displays (which happen. Just because the pride is sexual in nature [sexual orientation] doesnt mean that a bit of self respect and shame isnt in order.), all while being told not to judge and disguising it all as protesting the maaaaaaaaaan and society. Its gross.
The same goes for a lot of pride displays and protests. These people need to just stay home. Insecurity is a gateway drug.

>>1208468>>1208434>>1208465I just don't see the reason to be hootin' and hollarin' in a self-depreciating manner about something that isn't really even an accomplishment. It's just a choice that doesn't really take much effort. Funny enough, my story is a bit strange. I'll keep it gender neutral because I don't want to give away too many of my life, once upon a life time ago, I was once a homosexual. I say once for a reason. I was attracted to the same sex for a period in my life and then eventually got over it. I used to have a partner for roughly the total of 7 years. We were both the same biological sex and comfortable in our own skins. I was attracted to them in every way, mind, body and soul, but one day I had thought about it and realized I didn't really want to be in a homosexual relationship. I I had my fun, but it was time to raise a family, so I decided to be heterosexual. I literally do not get aroused by the same sex as before. I just chose it and my body followed in suit.
I want to make it clear, that I'm not ashamed of my past and I don't judge others for choosing to be homosexual, trans, or anything outside of the norm. I never really struggled with discrimination or felt like I couldn't be myself. I actually have a theory that a lot of the bad behavior is sexual repression which can lead to further bad behavior. Let's face it, the LGBT community (not just those who are LGBT) isn't as accepting as it leads on to be. (I've had trans friends who were persecuted relentlessly online to the point of tears because they didn't refer their own self as the appropriate gender pronouns. Which is just ridiculous. It was really dumb. They're doing fine now. I'm glad I was there for them.) I just don't see why there has to be an entire disruptive and troublesome parade about it. Now if it was at a venue like a concert or stadium, that might be a little different. I still wouldn't get what the big deal is, but at least it would be more contained and organized. You could even sell tickets for it as a fundraiser for things like children with cancer or preservation of the environment or something like that.

>>1208471Choices vs biology. I have nothing against religion, but I think the only people who would care about that sorta thing are those within the church, or that are raised on believing it's wrong. I'd say there are toxic traits to both hetero and homosexality. We're people and animals at the end of the day. We're people that make a lot of decisions, but at the end of the day we're still animals that run on some level of instinct. Emotion is instict, breathing is instinct.
I think it's important to remember both factors when treated other people.

>>1208486>>1208483The trouble at play here, somewhat obviously, seems to be that you're assuming every single person hassled by cops over there was 100% an innocent goodboy who did nothing wrong.
The video posted only says 5 were arrested; And it certainly doesn't show any supposed "beating people up".
It seems, on the contrary, to be fairly lax overall of a response. There's a brief shot of a bit of a standoff as the crowd doesn't want to surrender the vandals. But that's about all we actually get.
I'm going to be dead blunt; This is happening in
SAN FRANSISCO.
This isn't Alabama.
This isn't Maga country.
This is the very heartland of pride.
I just don't believe the cops from San Fransisco showed up to a pride parade and started indiscriminately attacking folk. Just seems outright nonsensical.

>>1208486And sometimes people get arrested at parades. A parade doesnt excuse people to destroy property and suddenly be allowed to spray people with aerosolized spray paint. You won't ever see me destroying my city or attacking people just because my favorite team in sportsball won. Uninvolved in what way is surrounding cops just trying to do their job like a wild pack of chimpanzees being uninvolved?
