It's never been specifically been said in the show until now but Groenig is from Oregon and is known to have based various characters and locations in the show from his childhood so you put two and two together

i don't watch but wouldn't the joke then be that he is saying wat everyone already knows since he is old and kind-of looks like he doesn't want to restate the obvious and possibly a little tsundere(?)? ...or does that still count as ruining?

It's been a running joke in the show that they hint at but never confirm and often make fun of.

A few examples include such as the image I posted before in which Ned says Springfield is bordered by Ohio, Nevada, Maine, and Kentucky which is impossible

A chalkboard intro joke that reads "Springfield is in any state but yours"

A businessman buying tickets to Springfield only to not know which Springfield he's going to

And in the family guy crossover episode there's an "Oh yeah" joke where the Kool Aid Man is supposed to break through a wall only for him to not turn up and then he phones Peter Griffin to tell him he has no idea where Springfield is

Yeah idk man I didn't see the episode but this seems like a throwaway gag more than explicit confirmation.

...perhaps it was a reference to this episode & we still don't know what state they are from? ...but it's definitely not oregon?

....or "oregon" is actually a city or town name in another unknown state? (maybe would be clearer if i watched some episodes)
